OKIDO is the children's magazine that the tutor for this project, Rachel Ortas, illustrates for. We've been given the brief to design a page in it and the subject is really open; it can be a game or activity or even a story that explains a certain aspect of life in a simple and fun way that kids would enjoy. It's been really refreshing so far, because kids have no solid preconceptions about what styles of design are considered acceptable, so there's no reason why your own style wouldn't be appropriate. I haven't focused on illustration in a big way in any other projects which is one of the reasons I chose this project because hopefully I can learn lots from Rachel.
